Elouise Spencer - 11 November 2019

Aristocrat Leisure Limited CEO Trevor Croker has just been appointed to the role of chairman of the American Gaming Association. A spokesperson for the AGA’s board of directors confirmed the election and appointment by way of a recent media release. Moreover, revealed the media confirmation, Croker will serve the association in the capacity of chairman for a total of 2 years, commencing January 2020.

Despite the fact that its obviously a fantastic honour to be recognised and considered chairman material by an organisation holding the reputation the likes of which is populated by the AGA, it must be said that the association chose well when it decided to go with Croker as the 1st choice candidate. The Aristocrat man originally moved from Australia to Las Vegas in 2017 when he first assumed control of the Aristocrat helm in the position of CEO. But as for the bigger picture, he has served the pokies machines development giant ever since 2009 when he first joined the company as Chief Digital Officer.

Past Experience

The time spent in the abovementioned position proved invaluable experience to Croker as during that time he had the opportunity to oversee various global online and land based gambling developments, as well as gain massive exposure to how everything interlocked on a global scale.

He then; post role as Chief Digital Officer; was appointed to various top management and operational positions, including Managing Director of the corporation’s Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific regions, and eventually onwards to the top-dog role of Executive Vice President.

Croker A Superb Choice

As for the man himself, Croker is excited and also honoured to have been considered and selected by the AGA. He also said that what was probably most exciting to him on a personal level was that the appointment came at a time when the entire gaming and sports betting industry is undergoing a significant period of growth.

Croker also referred to the fact that he will be carrying the baton forward following the hand-over from exiting chairman Tim Wilmott. Croker referred specifically to the progress made by Wilmot regarding the internal establishment of a culture of responsibility gaming and betting, so much so that responsibility in business under Wilmott’s leadership became a signature key focus.

The AGA is without a doubt gaining a major asset in the Aristocrat man, and one more than able to carry their superb legacy ever forward.
