Evolution’s Timeline To Live Casino Success

Elouise Spencer - 07 December 2020

Live Casino specialist studio Evolution recently announced the launch of the world’s first Live Craps game – thereby completing their mission to recreate in live dealer format every game ever offered by a land-based casino.

But Evolution wasn’t always the online casino industry giant they’ve grown to be. Success wasn’t instant – requiring thousands of hours of hard work and dedication. Titles such as Live Blackjack, Dream Catcher, Live Roulette, Lightning Roulette, and Live Baccarat all had to start somewhere.

We take a look at the type of timeline required for the growing of a Live Casino giant.

The Early Years

Established in 2006, Evolution wasted no time revolutionising the European Live Dealer market – signing only a year later major supply agreements with some of the world’s leading online casino operator brands. William Hill, Gaming VC, Expect, VC Bet, Gala Coral – you name the brand of the day, and chances are Evolution had them on board.

Come 2009, and even more big names get added to the already impressive list. Newly signed on that year included 888 Holdings, Ladbrokes, Unibet, Paddy Power, SkyBet, and SportingBet.

The Formation Years

Then, in 2012, mobile gaming officially launches. This extends the iGaming floor in incredible ways, leading indirectly to the launch of Live Casino Hold’em. The demand for entertainment on the move now bigger and more urgent than ever before, the scene is perfectly set for the next couple of years.

The years 2013 to 2016 prove instrumental to the growth of the studio. Milestones achieved include the launch of Live Three Card Poker, Live Baccarat Squeeze, and Caribbean Stud Poker. Evolution furthermore opens a studio in Malta, and successfully acquires a building for a Live Casino studio in Riga. The online casino company also launches its 7th European studio at Bucharest’s Grand Casino – which would ultimately become the Live Casino specialist developer’s first fully-certified Live Casino venue in Romania.

Reaping The Rewards

Come 2017, and Dream Catcher is named the Digital Product of the Year at G2E, Las Vegas. Also, Evolution opens a brand-new Live Casino studio in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Then in 2018, the brand wins the Innovation in Live Casino SBC Award for Lightning Roulette, as well as the Product Innovation of the Year Award at that year’s Global Gaming Awards – for the same title.

2019 sees them win the award for Innovation in Casino Entertainment at the SBC Awards of that year. The online casino studio also goes on to launch Deal or No Deal Live – a 24/7 game show world’s first.

Finally, in 2020, Evolution opens its first Live Casino studio in Lithuania, is crowned Online Casino of the Year at the Global Gaming Awards, and rebrands from Evolution Gaming, to simply Evolution.
