Bob Hamman Receives Casino Lifetime Achievement Award

Elouise Spencer - 24 July 2019

Bob Hamman, Founder and President of SCA Promotions and CEO and President of SCA Gaming, is being recognised for his contribution to the gaming industry and his success as a gaming entrepreneur.

Hamman will be awarded with the prestigious Casino Marketing & Technology Lifetime Achievement Award on July 24 at a luncheon at the 16th annual Casino Marketing & Technology Conference, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. His name will join the list of stalwarts like Jim Allen, Staci Columbo Alonso, Virginia McDowell, John Acres, Victor Rocha, Ginny Shanks, Lyle Berman, Bill Harrah and Phil Satre.

Joining The Hall Of Fame

Known not only for his success as an entrepreneur, Hamman is a 15-time World Champion bridge player, and he has held the position of number one ranked player in the world a total of 21 times. He has even authored a book, entitled At the Table – My Life and Times, which chronicles his experiences as a pro bridge player playing in tournaments around the world.

Hamman founded SCA Promotions in 1986 after the company he was working for passed up on a promotional opportunity, saying it was too risky. Bob Hamman took the job, and his Promotions Company was born. From a humble golf hole-in-one prize coverage and promotion business, the company grew from strength to strength until it powered promotions across many industries. SCA has paid out more than $200 000 000 to its clients, in prize coverage, over the course of 120 000 promotional events. On four separate occasions, it has offered prize overage of up to $1 billion.

 A  Visionary Man

Following the success of SCA Promotions, Hamman established SCA Gaming, considering his personal interest in gambling and his gift for identifying and fulfilling opportunities. He believed it was time for him to focus on the opportunities and challenges of the growing gaming industry. SCA embodies that, and has become the chief one-stop-promotional-shop for gaming manufacturers and casinos. Hamman and his team provide a variety of turnkey promotional solutions, which include everything from digital games that drive traffic, to on-floor promotions and boards, to scratch cards, to the large audience game shows that engage people on a larger scale. SCA surfs on the wave on the pinnacle of innovation. This is particularly true, says Hamman, when it comes to the business of providing secured technologies that have the ability to power and protect casino floors.

The Awards event is one of many highlights of the Casino Marketing & Technology Conference, which gets under way on July 22. Following the conference, there will be two days of educational sessions, award presentation events, two evening receptions and many distinguished speakers.
